Advocate for “Teens” Health at Annual Health Fair

Philip Soto, Juvenile Superior Court of Pasadena and one hundred twenty of Pasadena’s Bright Future Scholars plus
silver, and bronze medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Generous three hundred plus guests representing
eleven local middle and high schools. Exciting competitions and Activate provided silver, and bronze medals awarded for
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Generous donations from vendors Pirates Booty and Activate provided scholars with
healthy snacks and beverages throughout the event. The dedicated efforts and and the support of Los Angeles County
Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Honorary Dean of the Bright Futures Scholars, his staff and the various county health
departments, enabled the scholars to receive valuable information and share input on various health issues from a
teenage perspective; such as drinking, smoking, drugs, sex, mental health, nutrition, and the raffle. Overall, it was a
importance of good eating habits. Many magnificent gifts including an iPod, TV/DVD player, etc. were won during the free
raffle. Overall, it was a great event better health for our scholars and their friends and family!raffle. Overall, it was a great
